MIT University organized its Orientation Week for the newly admitted batch of 2017 from 7th August, 2017- 14th August, 2017 on the university campus.
The Registration Process for the new batch (BBA HTT/ Marketing/ Finance) was held on 7th August, 2017.
The Orientation Classes were held on 8th August, 2017 from 10:00am- 1:00pm. The classes started with an introduction by Dr. Mukesh Saxena (Vice Chancellor), Dr. Debmalaya Bhattacharya (Dean, Academics) and Dr. Rupak Gupta (Registrar and Dean of Student Affairs). The Session was then followed by Dr. Bhairab Sharma (SRE) followed by Administration (Mr. Sandipan Chakraborty), Library (Ms. Badarisha Ryntathiang), Student Affairs/ Proctor (Dr. Bikash Gogoi), Finance (Mr. Balakrishna Narra) and concluded by IT Department (Mr. Arindam Roy).
The Sector Specific Course was held on 9th August, 2017 from 10:00am- 1:00pm. The class was started by Ms. Ibanylla Shylla (HTT) followed by Ms. Jupitara Kalita (Finance) and concluded by Dr. Bikash Gogoi (Marketing). The aim of this programme was to make students aware of the specific courses (HTT/ Marketing / Finance) and career opportunities related to them.]p>
The Foundation Classes was held on 14th August, 2017 from 10:00am- 1:00pm. The class was started by Ms. Ibanylla Shylla for Hospitality, Travel and Tourism; followed by Ms. Jupitara Kalita for Finance; Dr. Bikash Gogoi for Marketing and concluded by Ms. Ujjaini Chakraborty for Professional Communication. The aim for this programme was to make students aware of core subjects, classroom practices (Attendance, Internal Assessments, External Assessments), Course Curriculum, encouraging the students to join the various clubs formed in the university and maintaining the decorum in the campus.
Regular classes commenced from 16th August, 2017.
